Earth Day Food and Wine is certainly all about fun, but we also like to throw some cool education into the mix as well. This year, we’ve happily accepted an offer from the gracious and talented Brigit Binns to do a cooking demonstration at the Main Event on Saturday, April 23!
Nestled under the oaks at Castoro Cellars Meadow, using nothing but a little elbow grease, local eggs, and some incredible spring produce from Talley Farms, Brigit will show us how to whip up one of the most delicious sauces. Ever. Aioli is everyone’s favorite, and goes great with vegetables, protein, finger foods—hey, everything except dessert! Smoked Paprika Aoili? Check. Triple Garlic Aioli? Check. Preserved Meyer Lemon Aioli? Check. You won’t need a culinary degree or any fancy equipment to master these tasty and nutritious techniques, and they’ll be great to have in your repertoire for parties or even quick weeknight snacks.
The author of twenty-nine best-selling cookbooks (many for the Williams-Sonoma imprint), Brigit is an avid enthusiast of Central Coast food and wine. One of the avenues for her passion is teaching cooking classes in the state-of-the-art kitchen at Refugio, a private retreat space/vacation rental in Paso Robles where she and her husband (aka “Paso Wine Man”) share their enthusiasm for the bounty of the Central Coast with guests from around the world.
