Who doesn’t want to become savvier about wine? If you’re a newbie taster or even an average wine drinker, you can learn the difference between your tannins and your tannats in Stasi Seay’s “Wine Savvy 101.”
A longtime pal of Central Coast Vineyard Team, Seay has been involved in all aspects of the wine industry throughout her career. Trust us, this is a gal that knows how to manage her canopy! Plus, her easy-going attitude promises that Wine Savvy 101 will “wine education without all the fuss.”
Seay will sip you through sensory training (swirling and sniffing) and enlighten you about descriptors (yes, that’s a fancy word for “words,” but yes, words like “oaky,” “crisp,” and “full-bodied mouthfeel” really do have industry-wide meanings). She’ll also offer up some do’s and don’t for tasting, buying, and properly storing wines.
Wine Savvy 101 will be held during the 7th Annual Earth Day Food & Wine Festival Weekend, at the Paso Robles Inn on Friday, April 19 from 7-9 p.m. Limited to 25 attendees, cost is $60/pp or $100/ couple.
Discounts are available to Earth Day Food & Wine Festival ticketholders at $45/pp or $75/couple, but tickets must be purchased online.
