You don’t have to be a farmer, grower or winemaker to support sustainable winegrowing. Simply become a #ispySIP to get the word out about the wines that have done the hard work of getting certified. Here’s how:
- Look for wines that have the SIP Certified Logo—and buy them!
- Ask your local shop if they carry SIP Certified wines and encourage them to do so if they don’t.
- Tell your friends about SIP Certified wines and then share a bottle.
- Snap a photo of yourself enjoying a SIP Certified wine, or a photo of a SIP Certified wine on the shelf and share on social media with the hashtag #ispySIP.
It’s easy. It’s fun. And it’s important. Here’s why:
- Achieving SIP Certification means that the winery is absolutely committed to sustainable practices that preserve the environment, support their workers and contribute to cleaner processes. Basically, these are really nice people and they deserve to be applauded.
- SIP Certification is not easy to get. We’re nice, too, but our requirements are stringent, detailed and non-negotiable. When you buy SIP Certified wines, you are buying from a company that has really been put through their paces. And they volunteered for it. No joke.
- Every time you encourage your local markets to carry SIP Certified wines, you pave the way for even more wineries to see the benefits of sustainable practices. Sustainable businesses are environmentally friendly, but it’s savvy business, too.
- Consumer demand drives business decisions. By seeking, buying and sharing SIP Certified wines, you are casting a vote for more wines to adhere to sustainable practices—and that’s good for everyone.
No need to get your hands dirty to be sustainable. Just become a SIP spotter and you’re doing all you need to support us in our efforts to make all sips sustainable.
