A special venue awaits guests at the “Farm to Fork Dinner and Tour,” the kick off event for the 8th Annual Earth Day Food & Wine Weekend. For many of you, this will be your first peek of the renovated tasting room and restaurant at the prestigious JUSTIN Vineyard and Winery in Paso Robles, California. As always, this gathering will showcase the host winery’s award-winning wines throughout the evening, plus gourmet fare and the chance to meet several local farmers and ranchers at dinner.
Your guides for the “Farm” portion of the evening will be JUSTIN’s Winemaker, Scott Shirley and Vineyard Manager Paul Kaselionis. They’ll take you on a leisurely and informative tour of the SIP Certified Estate Vineyard that produces world-class Bordeaux blends such as ISOSCELES and JUSTIFICATION. You’ll learn about the estate’s biodynamic farming practices and sustainable winery facility, and get to see some of the unique vineyard equipment in action.
In preparation for the “Fork” chapter of event, you’ll wander the estate’s kitchen garden with resident Chef Will Torres and help him pick out fresh vegetables and herbs to use in your dinner. Then, sit back, sip, and relax as Torres and the rest of the Culinary Team of The Restaurant at JUSTIN prepare a four-course, family-style dinner to be paired with several of JUSTIN’s stellar wines. You’ll indulge in this feast seated next to some of the very farmers and ranchers that produced the local fare on your plate.
Seating is very limited for this event so as to maintain its intimate nature. Tickets are available online or by calling 805.466.2288. All proceeds from the Earth Day Food & Wine Weekend events support research, demonstration, and farm worker outreach programs of the Vineyard Team, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable winegrowing since 1994.
